Analysis of successful outcome in patients undergoing homologous intrauterine insemination

Background: Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a cost-effective, non-invasive and its success depends on the various factors. The factors associated with of IUI literature least available in Indian context. Objectives were to analyze outcome patients undergoing homologous terms pregnancy rates (clinical pregnancy) predictors for outcomes.Methods: This prospective observational study among 200 couples infertility therapeutic tertiary care centre. Among participants, IUI, after obtaining informed written consent, data related outcomes collected through pre structured Questionnaire.Results: participants who undergone procedure, 40 (20%) become positive pregnancy. Of positive, 30 (15%) delivered normal babies 7 (14%) went spontaneous abortions 1 (0.5%) D C. Type infertility, drug induction ovulation, age years, years marriage, day no. ovulation not statistically significant outcomes. Endometrial thickness, greatest dimension follicular size, increased total sperm count, percentage motility, post wash count motility significantly outcomes.Conclusions: Since rate comparable other studies reported, procedure relatively cheaper, same can be recommended as simple cost effective first line management certain specific indications infertility.
